Mountains in Switzerland in April
A traveler is planning a 10-day trip to Switzerland in April, focusing on day hikes instead of skiing. They want to know what attractions might be closed in the mountain areas and if their plan to stay in either Interlaken or Lucerne is a good idea. They are eager for details about scenic spots accessible to tourists.
- Some mountain transport routes may be closed for maintenance in April, but many hiking trails and transport options will still be open.
- You can enjoy great mountain views from the valleys and mainline trains without relying solely on cable cars.
- In Lucerne, check out hiking trails on Rigi, Pilatus, and Titlis, while in Interlaken, local trails in Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, and Mürren are excellent options.
- Hiking along Lake Thun and Lake Brienz is also a great way to enjoy the scenery.

Hello. I am planning a trip to Switzerland for 10 days in April and curious about what would be closed in the mountain areas. Primarily looking for day hikes and no skiing. Are all the scenery spots opened for tourists to take in the gorgeous Mountain View’s? I plan to fly into Zürich and stay in Interlaken or Lucerne ? Does this sound like a good plan? Thanks
