Nisha – it’s impossible to book a panoramic seat in any GEx and BEx for section Chur-Filisur-Chur. You choose local trains or non-reserved car in Bernina Express.

    Hello Nisha

This what we accomplished in 2 days in April.

Arrived in Chur by 10.30 AM

In the afternoon we took Chur – Arosa . Very scenic. We had snow fall during the climb, which was enjoyable, but prevented us taking a Gandola lift / Cable car in Arosa, which you can do. Back to Chur in the evening.

Next day we took morning Regional train from Chur to St. Moritz which goes via Filisur and all regional trains are PE’s (Panoramic)

In the afternoon we took Train back from St. Moritz to Disentis , which is same route back till Reichenau-Tamins and you change to RE 7 to Disentis. Towars Disentis first 20-25 mins are very scenic where train passes along Rhine river. We went to Disentis and came back to Chur in the evening. At Disentis there is a heritage monastery worth visiting and on the way a nice cozy coffee place.

All our journeys were using Swiss pass and all RE’s are PE’s. (Not same as Bernina or Glacier type but almost the same) By the way Reichenau-Tamins to Disentis is part of Galcier express route.

    Hope this is useful

Shashank – don’t confuse Nisha 🙂 Trains signed “PE” (“Panorama Express”) they are “Bernina Express” and “Glacier Express” only. None any local trains signed “PE”, so you didn’t going by “PE” trains (eventually except unreserved car in “Bernina Express”).

Nisha – absolutelly the best option for you (if you really planning to go from Chur to Filisur only) will be take a regional trains as Shashank mentioned.

    Hi Nisha,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

In addition to Shashank and Kamil’s replies, you can read all about the Bernina Express and Glacier Express train rides below:

If you do choose to travel on the actual Bernina and Glacier trains, seat reservations are necessary, which are independent of your rail ticket.  I’d book these soon, as they can sell out.  All explained in the above links.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
