I have a 5 day vacation in Swiss. I am staying in Lucerne (station) but want to visit other cities. I will visit Mt Tiltlis. Do I still need to visit Mt Pilatus too (is there a huge difference between the two?).

I hear a lot about Interlaken , Jungfrau, Wenngen and Schilthorn. Which are duable to do in one day from Lucerne (returning to Lucerne end of the day)? I would like to see some waterfalls if possible.

I am open for any other suggestions outside of the citeis I mentioned above

Thank you so much for this wonderful site!

    Hi Samo,

You can check out the differences between those mountains with out pages here:

Titlis is higher, with a glacier and is reached by rotating cable car. Pilatus has one of the steepest cogwheel train trips in the world.

Lauterbrunnen might be the best option for you. There is the local Staubach Falls and nearby Trummelbach Falls which can be walked to: https://www.myswissalp s.com/hiking/lauterbru nnen-stechelberg

You could also make the round-trip to Murren from Lauterbrunnen and visit the falls on the way back. See how to reach Murren here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/murren/travel

What do you think about the Rhine Falls? Is is doable from Lucerne? Are they much better to see than Staubach Falls and nearby Trummelbach Falls?

    Thanks again!

    Hi Samo,

I prefer the Falls around Lauterbrunnen over the Rheinfalls. You can check schedules and trains from Lucerne here and decide if it is something you want to do: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable

You can get some idea of what the Rheinfalls is like here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/rheinfall and Staubach Falls here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/lauterbrunnen/pi ctures and Trummelbach here: https://www.truemmelba chfaelle.ch/e/
