Regional Pass Bernese Oberland / Swiss Travel Pass

Short summary – read this first

Disha is planning a trip to Switzerland in August with two other adults. They aim to spend 5 days exploring Lucerne and Interlaken, visiting mountains like Mt Rigi and Schilthorn, and considering stops in Zermatt and Montreux. Disha is seeking advice on which travel pass would be best for their itinerary.

Key takeaways:
  • A Swiss Travel Pass is recommended for your itinerary as it covers more areas than the Bernese Oberland Regional Pass.
  • Check the validity maps to ensure your planned destinations are included in your chosen pass.
  • Consider the Swiss Travel Pass for flexibility with train travel across multiple regions, including Zermatt and Montreux.

You are covering too wider number of areas for just a Berner Oberland Regional Pass. A Swiss Travel Pass would be best overall in your case.

Hi Disha and welcome to MySwissAlps.com!

You’ll find the validity map of the Regional Pass Bernese Oberland here: http://www.myswissalps.com/regionalpassberneseoberland/validity. As you can see on the map, many of your places aren’t covered by this pass (like Rigi, Pilatus, Zermatt etc.)

I am with 1960man, a Swiss Travel Pass would be better for your itinerary. See the validity area here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/validity.

    Ildiko

Ps.: I am going to add links to your posts, please feel free to visit them if you would like to learn more about those places.
